This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of one of the fastest growing and creative CGI/VFX studios in the North of England. This is a full-time, permanent position in our Manchester city centre studio with some remote flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Create photo-real hair and fur grooms to be used on our digital doubles and creatures
    • Create high-quality models and UV's for use in production; implements improvements and changes based on review feedback from the supervisor and lead direction
    • Create photo-real textures, both hand-painted and from set photography to a level of detail necessary for hero CG assets
    • Work within the defined pipeline
    • Ensure continuity and support other asset departments such as texture, lookdev, and rigging
    • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
    • Work independently on defined tasks but in collaboration with artists and supervisors in modelling, shading, and lighting during the look development process
    • Learn and adapt to new workflows and methods quickly

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Max or Maya is required
    • Excellent knowledge of Zbrush 
    • Mari, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Ornatrix and Nuke experience is a plus
    • Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Experience working on creatures, digital doubles, topology, and blend shapes (preferred)
    • Eye for detail and able to QA their own work to ensure the highest quality before assets handoff
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills; experience working under tight deadlines
    • Able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as a team player
    • A clear understanding of color space, shading, lighting, and rendering methodologies

Formed in Manchester in 2010 the studio is known for its varied portfolio of work, including high-concept episodic drama series, video games cinematics/trailers and innovative brand campaigns delivered across multiple channels and platforms.
